As such, an investigation into this incident has been initiated and the Officer in question has been placed on
Administrative Leave with Pay pending the outcome of the investigation. We ask that the community continue to

MORE INFO/Lt. Steve Dorris/BPD…..

The young man, a 19 year old, alleges he was assaulted by an off duty Baytown officer after that officer and the officer’s wife found the 19 year old behind the old Whataburger at Garth and I-10 with their 17 year old daughter after she and the 19 year old coworker had gotten off work. Due to the fact that there is an ongoing Internal Affairs investigation and a criminal investigation running concurrently I am unable to elaborate much beyond that. The officer in question has been placed on administrative leave with pay pending the outcomes of those two investigations. We are still working to secure an official statement from the 19 year old pertaining to the incident.
