Baytown Police officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop at approximately 7:45 a.m. today near Decker Drive and Craigmont Street after observing a vehicle commit a minor traffic violation.
The driver failed to stop and led officers on a pursuit westbound on Interstate 10 toward Channelview. The vehicle exited at Monmouth Drive and made a U-turn, traveling eastbound on I-10 back toward Baytown.
Once back in Baytown, the driver exited at John Martin Road, where he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a ditch. The driver was not injured in the crash.
The driver was charged with Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle.
