On October 18, 2026, at approximately 1:15 a.m., Baytown police officers were dispatched to a gas station in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, the complainant stated that he was using a restroom stall when he heard a loud bang and felt something strike his right leg.
The investigation determined that 22-year-old Nicolas Bermudez Martinez of Crosby was in possession of a firearm when it discharged. Bermudez Martinez remained at the scene. The victim received medical treatment from Baytown EMS for a minor injury.
