The Baytown Police Department is currently seeking help from the public in
identifying several suspects in a series of baby formula thefts, which have occurred
over the past several months, from the Wal-Mart located in the 4900 block of Garth
Road in Baytown.
The suspects in these cases act in an orchestrated manner with the males acting as
lookouts while the women, who enter the store with a baby stroller or baby carrier
and diaper bags. The women then load the diaper bags with the baby formula and
exit the store without paying for the merchandise. The suspects have targeted this
particular Wal-Mart at least five times since January and have made away with over
$2600.00 worth of baby formula.
The suspects are described as Hispanic males and Hispanic females and have been
captured on video leaving the parking lot in a white, newer model Ford F-150
Super Crew 4 door pick-up truck, with black rims.
It is believed that the suspects may be selling the formula on the black market;
therefore it is imperative that we identify these suspects and bring them to justice.
Once the baby formula leaves the store it is impossible to ensure the integrity of the
product before it is fed to an infant, therefore we strongly discourage our citizens
from feeding any product to their child that was purchased through any
unauthorized vendor or third party.
The Baytown Police Department is committed to the safety of its citizens, most
especially our infants and children, and asks anyone who may recognize the
suspects or vehicle in this case to call the Baytown Police Department at 281-422-
8371. You can also contact Crime Stoppers at 281-427-TIPS, submit anonymous
tips online at the Baytown Police Department website http://www.baytown.org, or
text keyword BAYTOWN plus your tip to 274637 (CRIMES). Crime Stoppers will
pay up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrests of these suspects. You will
remain anonymous
