Baytown man charged in murder of 20 year old pregnant woman
On February 24th at 4:37 p.m., Baytown Police responded to the
1500 block of Tri City Beach Road to a report of a deceased
person found on the side of the road. Upon arrival, responding
officers discovered the body of 21 year old Rose Maria Hunt
lying on the side of the road, covered in a blanket. It would later
be determined that Rose, who was also approximately 8 months
pregnant, had suffered a single gunshot wound to the head.
During the course of the investigation, Homicide Detectives
learned that a vehicle had been seen near the body by a citizen,
who was able to obtain the license plate number of that vehicle.
This vehicle was later located by patrol officers, parked at a local
restaurant, unoccupied. Homicide Detectives were able to locate
the registered owner of the vehicle, at which time they learned
that 20 year old David Galindo of Baytown was actually in
possession of the vehicle during the time it was seen near the
crime scene.
Homicide Detectives conducted an interview with Mr. Galindo and
learned that he had been with Ms. Hunt and was in fact present at
the time of the murder. Last night, detectives presented the
evidence and information uncovered during thisinvestigation to the
Harris County District Attorney’s Office, which resulted in Mr.
Galindo being charged with Murder in the death of Rose Maria
Hunt. Mr. Galindo is currently being held in the Harris County Jail
in lieu of a $300,000.00 bond. At this time it is not believed that
Mr. Galindo is the father of the unborn child. Homicide Detectives
are still investigating to determine a motive for the murder.
