05.15.20 Two News Stories/Major Accidents

2020-24056 – On May 15th at 7:04 a.m., officers responded to a report of a one car rollover accident on the outbound side of the 5100 block of Decker with the driver trapped in the vehicle. Upon arrival officers and EMS personnel worked quickly to free the 63 year old female driver of the vehicle, who was airlifted to Hermann Hospital in Houston to be treated for her injuries. Initial investigation revealed the driver exited the main lanes of Decker, striking  a curb which caused the driver to lose control and roll the vehicle then strike a concrete post and a telephone pole. Baytown Police Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating. The condition of the driver is unknown at this time.

2020-24258 – On May 13th at 7:32 p.m., officers responded to a rollover accident at the intersection of North Main and Hunt Road. Upon arrival officers found that a vehicle was traveling south bound on North Main approaching Hunt Road while another vehicle was traveling northbound, The northbound vehicle made a left hand turn in front of the south bound vehicle which resulted in the southbound vehicle striking the passenger side of the northbound vehicle. The driver of the northbound vehicle was cited for failure to yield right of way. There were no serious injuries.
