2020-12603 – On March 4th at 4:04 a.m., officers were dispatched to a report of a Major Accident on Spur 330 inbound at Bayway Drive. Call remarks indicated a vehicle was traveling the wrong way on the main lanes and collided head on with another vehicle. Upon arrival officers identified the wrong way vehicle as a 2007 Nissan Versa, which was occupied by a Hispanic male driver who was pronounced deceased on scene. According to witnesses, the Nissan Versa was traveling the wrong way on Spur 330 inbound and collided head on with a newer model pickup truck, which then caused the pick up to strike an 18 wheeler. The occupant of the pickup truck was transported by ground to a local hospital with what appears to be non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the 18 wheeler was not injured and the Hispanic male driver has yet to be positively identified. Our Accident Reconstruction Team continues to investigate to determine if alcohol, or any other intoxicant, played a role in the crash.
