04.10.19 Man Captured in McNair After Burglary

2019-20615 – On April 9th at  7:47 a.m., officers responded to a report of a burglary of a business in the 100 block of North Alexander in which a vehicle was also stolen. Upon contacting the complainant officers learned that the vehicle, described as an Isuzu MPR Van, was missing from the business. A short time later the vehicle in question was observed pulling into a driveway in the 7400 block of Washington in Mcnair. As officers attempted to contact the occupants of the van an unidentified black male exited another vehicle parked in the driveway and fled on foot and despite an exhaustive search he  ultimately eluded capture. The driver of the van, identified as  39 year old Jay Coyer of Baytown, and the passenger were both detained and ultimately transported to the Baytown Jail where Coyer was charged with Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle through the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. The passenger was ultimately released without charges. Coyer mug shot attached.
