Story 1: This house fire occurred on Wednesday, March 27 off Decker Drive. The house was for sale. This incident is being investigated.
Update: 2019-18563 – On March 30th at 4:07 p.m., officers responded to the Piedmont Apartments in reference to a possible shooting. The report was that a resident of the complex had found a black male laying on the ground who the resident thought may have been shot. Upon arrival officers located the victim lying face down on the sidewalk outside the 2100 building, where witnesses knew the male to live. Officers assessed the male and found he was not breathing nor did he have a pulse. Officers immediately began attempting to resuscitate the male until EMS arrived, who subsequently transported the male to the Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital where he was pronounced deceased, it was also learned that the male was not a victim of a gunshot. The male was identified as 33 year old Marcus Broughton who lived in the apartment directly above where he was found. Detectives are investigating exactly how Marcus wound up on the ground below his apartment balcony and are awaiting the autopsy report to determine the exact cause of death. (Lt. Steve Dorris)
Then on today, Saturday, EMS responded to what was first reported to be a gunshot victim at Peidmont Apartments on Decker Drive. The male did not have a gunshot wound, but he did have a serious laceration to the head. According to information from the scene, it was believed he fell from the balcony. No witnesses were at the scene and the case is being investigated. Check back for the official press release.
