UPDATE/OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE: The shooting occurred in Channelview and the victim was being transported to a hospital in Baytown when the driver observed EMS on Garth Road. The driver flagged EMS down and EMS began providing medical attention to the victim. Baytown Police were dispatched to Garth and W. Archer but the victim refused to cooperate with the officers and would only say that the gunshot was self-inflicted. The officer could see that the victim’s left calf and pinky were severely injured. The male victim is in his mid-30s.
