03.05.18 Woman’s False Report Led to Her Arrest-See Update Below 03.17.18)

(UPDATE 03.17.18) Shantella Mitchell called Baytowncops.com to report she did not call Baytown Police concerning her assault. According to Chantella, the phone call to police was made by another individual.

2018-12878 – On March 3^rd at 9:02 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Baytown Inn located in the 1100 block of North Alexander in reference to a report of a woman being assaulted in one of the rooms by her boyfriend with a baseball bat. Upon arrival officers contacted the woman in the room, identified as 38 year old Shantella Mitchell of Baytown. While speaking with her officers  learned that Ms. Mitchell had not been assaulted nor was there anyone else in the room with her. It was also determined that Ms. Mitchell had outstanding local traffic warrants and was therefore placed under arrest and transported to the Baytown Municipal Jail where she was booked on the warrants.
