03.23.17 Man Charged with Criminal Trespass

2017-17243 – On March 21st at 11:00 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1800 block of Amy Street
in reference to a family disturbance. Upon arrival officers contacted the complainant
who advised she has been overseeing a family members residence while the family member was in the hospital.
The complainant went on to advise the family member’s son, identified as David Caterson, had arrived at the residence,
acting irrationally and was attempting to force the complainant to leave. Officers were able to make contact
with the actual home owner who advised that Mr. Caterson was not supposed to be at the residence.
While officers were on scene, Mr. Caterson was uncooperative and attempted to lock the complainant out of the residence.
As the complainant attempted to unlock the front door, Mr. Caterson violently kicked the front door, breaking the glass
and severely cutting his foot. Officers attempted to have Mr. Caterson open the door so he could be treated by EMS personnel,
however he refused. As officers attempted to talk with Mr. Caterson he became quiet; concerned he may be losing consciousness
due to the severity of his injury, officers forced entry into the residence to render aide to Mr. Caterson.
However as they entered the found Mr. Caterson was no longer inside the residence and found a blood trial out of the back door
and through the back yard. Baytown Police Department K-9 unit was summoned to the scene and was able
to successfully track Mr. Caterson to a baseball field a short distance from the scene.
Mr. Caterson was detained and transported to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries.
He was later released and transported to the Baytown Jail where he was charged, through the Harris County District Attorney’s Office,
with Criminal Trespass
