Police seeking help in identifying suspect in series of armed
robberies

The Baytown Police Department is currently investigating a series of armed
robberies of convenience stores in the Baytown area. These robberies are believed
to have been committed by the same individual who is also believed to be linked to
at least 5 different robberies since the beginning of the year.
Detectives have learned during the investigation of these robberies that the suspect
typically enters the stores brandishing a handgun, on several occasions jumping
over the counter. The suspect then forces the store employees, at gunpoint, to hand
over all the cash from the register before fleeing the store, which played out most
recently on Wednesday, February 8th at a convenience store in the 1200 Block of
Decker Drive.
The suspect in these cases is believed to be a black male, approximately 5ft 10in tall
and a medium build, with either some type of mask or a bandana covering his face
to further conceal his identity. In several of the cases he has been wearing a unique
hoodie, described as a “Jordan Jumpman” hoodie, dark gray or black in color with a
gray Jumpman logo on the front.
Although no one has been injured so far, Detectives are concerned that the actions
of this suspect could escalate and are asking for the communities help in identifying
the suspect in these cases. Detectives hope that someone will recognize the hoodie
or other clothing the suspect is wearing and contact the police.
