01.03.17 Large Party Led to Arrests

On December 30th at 11:18 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of Inwood in reference to multiple complaints of a large, loud party involving numerous teenagers. Upon arrival officers found the party was very large and several of the juveniles were consuming alcohol. One of the teenagers, 17 year old Daquan Landry was arrested for Minor in Possession of Alcohol. While officers were trying to gain some form of compliance from the crowd, 17 year old Nakita Harris became very belligerent, shouting profanities at the officers with no regard as to the neighbors who were outside hearing her profane outbursts. Officers attempted to arrest Ms. Harris, however as officers attempted to handcuff her, she pulled away and fled on foot. She was ultimately apprehended and charged with Evading Arrest. Officers then attempted to have the crowd disperse, however while attempting to do so, one of the juvenile party goers, a 15 year old male, became belligerent and was inciting the approximately 100 party goers. The juvenile refused several commands to disperse and stop his antagonistic and profanity laden rant, which he refused, continuing to enflame and embolden the crowd thus creating a volatile situation. This resulted in officers deploying a department issue Taser to gain control of the juvenile, which in turn caused the remainder of the crowd to disperse. The juvenile was ultimately released to his parents. Mug shots of the adults are attached.
