05.06.26 Shooting on New Meadow Drive in Baytown/Tuesday

A shooting occurred on New Meadow Drive in Baytown on Tuesday evening, May 5th.

 This first report is based on statements from eyewitness at the scene. 

The second report is the official Baytown Police press release. 

Report 1: According to several eyewitnesses at the scene on New Meadow Drive, a man was shot multiple times while being pursued by the shooter.  The victim of the shooting was reported to be the son-in-law of the shooter, David Polydore, a local pastor in Baytown. The victim was airlifted to a Houston hospital.

Official Baytown Police Press Release:

At approximately 5:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 3200 block of New Meadow Dr. in reference to a reported shooting that had just occurred during a family disturbance. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds and immediately began rendering first aid until EMS arrived and assumed care. The victim was transported via Life Flight to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Officers quickly established a perimeter around the residence. The suspect complied with verbal commands and was taken into custody without incident. The scene was secured, and detectives along with crime scene personnel were notified to continue the investigation.
