Story 1: Baytown Fire Department and EMS responded to the scene of a house fire shortly after 5 PM Saturday. One male who was inside the home was airlifted to a Houston hospital. No other information is available.
Story 2: On January 4, 2026, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Baytown Police officers attempted to arrest a suspect with outstanding warrants at a residence in the 1200 block of Cypress Street.
Baytown Police SWAT was requested and responded to the scene. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect, 39-year-old Joel Valdovinos of Baytown, was charged with Evading Arrest or Detention with a Previous Conviction and an Outside Agency Warrant for Burglary of a Building out of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
