Case 2022-12426 – Murder

UPDATE 5/27/2022 @ 3:20 p.m.
On May 25, 2022, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted Murder charges
on Leland Williams. It was found Williams was involved in the murder. On May 13, 2022,
the Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted Tampering with Evidence charges
on Allex Washington. The tampering charge on Washington is in reference to helping
Damere Ferguson clean the involved vehicle after the murder of the victim.

of Baytown will be identified, will be located, and brought to justice and prosecuted

UPDATE 3/29/2022 @ 11:00 a.m.
On March 24, 2022 Damere Ferguson was charged with Murder and Tampering with
Evidence. Ferguson was arrested in Cincinnati, Ohio; extradition is pending. Harris County
Sherriff’s Office is in charge of Ferguson’s extradition back to Texas. The investigation is
still ongoing and updates will be provided as it becomes available for release.

On Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at approximately 7:30 p.m. Baytown Police officers were
dispatched to the 3100 block of Ohio for a welfare concern about a person laying in the
street. Officers arrived and discovered the deceased female, identified as 55-year-old
Roxann Inniss, found in the street near a car. Emergency medical personnel arrived soon
after and pronounced Ms. Inniss dead. Neighbors reported they heard a gunshot and a
vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed. Police continue to seek witnesses and
detectives continue to investigate.

locating, arresting, and prosecuting the criminal responsible. Since December, we
have been able to bring violent offenders to justice through diligent police work, but
also through cooperation of the good citizens of Baytown. I encourage anyone with
