Today at approximately 1:50 a.m., Baytown Police along with Harris County Constable Precinct 8 responded to a welfare concern regarding an individual who was in a mental health crisis and wanted to jump off the Fred Hartman bridge. Both the Baytown Police Crisis Negotiators and Mental Health Officers arrived on scene to bring this incident to a peaceful resolution. The Baytown Police Department transported the individual in crisis to the hospital to get the proper care they needed. The Baytown Police Department would once again like to encourage anyone who needs suicide or mental health-related crisis support, or who has a loved one in crisis, to utilize the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
