Earlier today, Baytown and Houston Police Homicide detectives located an unoccupied vehicle in the 2500 block of E James in Baytown; the vehicle was involved in a February 5 homicide in Houston. At 11:00 a.m., an unidentified man was seen entering the vehicle and driving away from the apartment complex. Baytown officers attempted to pull the vehicle over which led to a brief pursuit. The vehicle crashed near the intersection of E Fayle and Woodlawn. The driver fled on foot, running back to 2500 E James and into an apartment. Our Crisis Negotiation Team began working to bring a peaceful resolution to this incident. At 2 p.m., the man surrendered to Baytown SWAT officers.
