12.07.20 Baytown Man Shot and Killed During Home Invasion

2020-59483 Baytown Man Shot and Killed During Home Invasion On Sunday, December 6 th at 11:37 p.m., Baytown Police responded to a report of shots fired at the Piedmont Apartments in the 7500 block of Decker Drive. Upon arrival responding officers learned the gun shots stemmed from a home invasion which had just occurred inside one of the apartments. Responding officers would also learn that one of the residents of the apartment, 24-year-old Lebert Louis, had been shot at least one time outside the apartment and had succumbed to his injury. Homicide Detectives responded to the scene and during their initial investigation learned at least three black males entered the apartment brandishing firearms and demanding money. During the course of the robbery the suspects rummaged through the apartment in an apparent attempt to find items to steal, then fled the apartment on foot. It appears Mr. Louis pursued the suspects on foot as they fled the scene, which tragically resulted in him being shot and killed outside of the apartment. Homicide Detectives are currently investigating this senseless murder and are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects in this case.
