2020-47947- On Thursday, October 1st at 5:40 p.m., Baytown Police attempted to make a traffic stop on a green Lincoln Navigator at the corner of White Rock and Royal Streets after an officer recognized 20-year-old Zavion Gilbert, by name and sight, enter the vehicle. Officers learned Gilbert had an Aggravated Robbery warrant out of Harris County. Gilbert refused to stop and the vehicle left the area and traveled westbound on I-10 into Highlands. Officers deployed spike strips on Thompson Road at Wallisville Road. The Lincoln ran over the spike strips causing Gilbert to lose control of the vehicle and strike another motorist. Gilbert exited the Lincoln and attempted to evade officers, but was taken into custody after a short distance. The other motorist was not injured in the collision. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and Evading in a Motor Vehicle charge was accepted. Mug shot attached.
