09.14.20 Five Stories/Baytown


2020-43898
 – On September 9th at 4:21 a.m., officers responded to the 6100 block of Thompson Road in reference to a hit and run accident. Upon arrival officers learned that a Toyota Tundra was traveling south on Thompson in the inside lane and a Cadillac passenger car was traveling south in the outside lane. The Cadillac made an unsafe lane change, striking the Tundra on the right front quarter panel. The Cadillac fled the scene without stopping. There were no injuries and the crash remains under investigation.

2020-44296 – On September 11th at 8:10 a.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the  2209 New Jersey Street, in references to a threats call involving a firearm.  Upon arrival officers learned the suspect, and a female that he had been fighting with, had retreated inside a residence on New Jersey.  Prior to going inside, the suspect had pulled a handgun and threatened to harm the neighbors and stated he would shoot up their house if they called the police. Officers attempted to establish contact with the suspects for some time but were unsuccessful. After a short time a Hispanic male subject exited the residence and was detained.  He was found to be in possession of a small amount of powder cocaine as well and over the course of the next half hour, three more subjects exited the residence one at a time and were also detained, while a fifth subject was located during a subsequent search of the residence, as well as narcotics and weapons and counterfeit currency. As a result f the three of the five subjects were arrested and charged with the following offenses through the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.

40 year old Jose Flores was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Retaliation

25 year old Ricardo Lopez was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, Forgery/Possession of Counterfeit Currency

21 year old Alyssa Copaus was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance

2020-44799 – On September 14th at 2:22 a.m.,  officers responded to the Alibi Bar located in the 500 block of Commerce in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival officers located a Hispanic male who had been struck by pellets from a shotgun blast, sustaining non-life-threatening injuries. During the investigation officers learned that the suspect, who had been inside the bar, had become angry over the Cowboys loss and the bar closing, which resulted in a disturbance. Several patrons of the bar escorted the suspect outside where a fight ensured. The suspect ultimately fled the scene only to return returned a short time later with a shotgun, firing multiple shots towards the bar and at subjects outside, before fleeing the scene again. The suspect has been identified and charges of Deadly Conduct are pending.
