05.27.20 Two Stories: Hot Pursuit and Today’s Event (U[date: Press Release Added/Story 2)

2020-26536 – On May 26th at 10:14 p.m., officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a Kawasaki motorcycle in the area of Highway 146 and Missouri. As officers initiated the stop the motorcycle refused to stop and led officers on a lengthy pursuit that went from Baytown to Highway 225 and Sens Road and back. The motorcycle would eventually make its way to the area of Hwy 99 and Kilgore Parkway where the rider lost control of the motorcycle and crashed in the grassy median, flipping the motorcycle several times. The rider, a 38 year old male, was conscious and able to talk as he continued to be uncooperative and belligerent with the officers who were attempting to render aid to him. Once EMS arrived the male was transported to a Houston area hospital to be treated for his injuries. Charges of Felony Evading on a Motor Vehicle are pending on the 38 year old as well as an active Parole Violation Warrant upon his release from the hospital.

Story 2: 2020-26638 – On May 27th at 2:29 p.m., officers responded to the pharmacy located in the Primary Medical Tower in the 2800 block of Garth in reference to an unwanted guest. Upon arrival officers learned that a 23 year old male was inside the pharmacy creating a disturbance because the pharmacy would not fill his prescription. The male was asked to leave by the staff, however he refused to do so initially, however our officer was able to convince him to leave the pharmacy and as the officer was escorting him out, the male became belligerent and began shouting obscenities at the pharmacy staff. At this point the officer attempted to place the male under arrest for Disorderly Conduct at which time the male fled on foot out of the building and into the driver seat of a tan Lincoln MDX which was parked in the parking lot. The male then fled the parking lot in the vehicle and was last seen entering the residential area east of the pharmacy. Due to the fact there were children in the area, officers did not immediately pursue the suspect out of concern for the safety of those children.  Almost immediately officers learned that the suspect vehicle had crashed into a parked trailer in the 400 block of Inwood, which was attached to a pick up that was occupied by two males, fortunately neither were injured. The male suspect then fled on foot again and at one point even entered a garage of a residence and asked the homeowner to let him hide in his garage form the police. The homeowner refused the request and the suspect fled again and reportedly tried to gain entry into other residences to hide, however it doesn’t appear he was able to do so. Officers conducted an exhaustive search for the suspect but were unable to locate him. Officers did however locate inside the suspect’s vehicle, a quantity of marijuana and a handgun and as a result the suspect, who officers have identified, is facing charges of Felony Evading, Unlawful Carrying a Weapon and Possession of Marijuana.
