05.05.20 Baytown Police Currently Working Shots Fired Scene/One Victim (Update: Official Press Release Added)

2020-22865 – On May 5th at 7:19 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 5100 block of Maple. Upon arrival officers found a subject one male who had suffered a gunshot wound to his groin area. During the course of the investigation officers learned that two men had been in an altercation during which one of the males pulled a gun on the other. The male was able to wrestle the gun away from the other male and flee the scene, back to his residence across the street. As the male ran to his house he noticed the other male was chasing after him so he ran inside the house and closed the door, at which time he retrieved as shotgun and as he peered out the door he noticed the other male, who had initially pulled a gun on him, running towards his residence. The male with the shotgun fired the shotgun in the direction of the other male, striking him in the groin area. The injured male was transported to Herman Hospital in Houston to be treated for his non-life threatening injuries. No charges have been filed as the case is being referred to a Grand Jury.
