Upon arrival officers located 29-year-old Emilio Aguilar of Baytown inside one of the rooms, deceased from a single gunshot wound. Over the past several days, Homicide Detectives have been working tirelessly to identify, locate and apprehend those responsible for the death of Mr. Aguilar and bring them to justice. Early in the investigation, Homicide Detectives identified two persons of interest in the case, 51-year-old Henry Carr Jr. and 32-year-old Angela Strokos, both of Baytown. The day following the announcement of Mr. Carr and Ms. Strokos as persons of interest, Mr. Carr voluntarily turned himself in to Homicide Detectives and Ms. Strokos was later arrested on unrelated warrants. As the investigation unfolded, Homicide Detectives identified two additional suspects, 29-year-old Gregory Ryan Maze, who was apprehended Tuesday by Baytown Detectives at a residence in Seabrook, and 38-year-old Stephen Swancie Martin, who was located and apprehended Wednesday by Harris County Pct. 3 Constables Deputies in the Channelview area. Through the investigation, Homicide Detectives learned that these four individuals collectively, devised and carried out a plan to rob Mr. Aguilar. The plan was hatched by Carr and Strokos who had learned earlier in the day that Mr. Aguilar was in possession of what they believed to be a large amount of money. They in turn contacted Maze and Martin who agreed to take part in the robbery. During the course of that robbery, Martin and Maze forced their way into the room Mr. Aguilar was in, both Martin and Maze armed with firearms. During the robbery, Martin armed with a handgun, shot Mr. Aguilar one time in the face, which tragically resulted in Mr. Aguilar’s death. Today, August 29th , Homicide Detectives presented the facts and evidence uncovered during the investigation to Prosecutors with the Special Crimes Division of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office who accepted Capital Murder charges on Stephen Swancie Martin, Gregory Ryan Maze and Henry Carr Jr. for their roles in the murder of Emilio Aguilar. All three suspects are currently in the Baytown Jail awaiting transfer to the Harris County Jail. Angela Strokos remains in Harris County Jail on unrelated drug charges. Detectives continue to follow up on other leads and additional charges are possible
