03.23.19 Two Stories: Attempted ATM Theft and Four Arrested for Aggravated Robbery (Re-Edited)

Case # 2019- 16436  – Attempted Burglary

On Thursday, March 21st at 2:31 a.m., Baytown Police responded to the drive thru of Chase Bank, located at 1505 N. Alexander Drive, in reference to a burglary in progress of the automated teller machine (ATM).   The alarm company was monitoring the cameras and observed a red pick-up truck backed up to the ATM with a chain wrapped around it. Four male subjects, two wearing red hooded sweatshirts; one wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and one wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, were attempting to break into the ATM.  The subjects fled the location after they were unsuccessful in gaining access into the ATM machine.  They left the damaged ATM behind as well as the vehicle, which was stolen out of HPD.  Officers canvassed the area and were unable to locate the subjects.  No money was taken. On Thursday evening, Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies and Baytown Police apprehended four males hiding in a soccer field in the Cedar Bayou Lynchburg area of Baytown.  The subjects were taken into custody by Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies following an aggravated robbery.
