Audio Correction: Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital

Crews were dispatched at 0319 with reports of people trapped in a house fire. The initial units arrived to find heavy fire but all victims already out; one victim was rescued by a passing sheriff’s deputy prior to FD arrival. The house suffered heavy fire damage but some contents were saved. One civilian was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital by ambulance with moderate to severe smoke inhalation. The deputy was taken to Hermann Hospital by patrol car to be checked out. One civilian with minor smoke inhalation was taken by ambulance to Houston MethodistBaytown Hospital. Two pediatric victims were treated and released on scene. There were no reported firefighter injuries. The fire is believed to be accidental. Natasha Barrett/PIO/City of Baytown
