02.26.19 Auto Pedestrian Accident Tuesday Night (Update: BPD Press Release)

On Tuesday, February 26th 2019 at 9:15 p.m., Baytown Police responded to a major accident in the 2900 block of Market Street.  A white female pedestrian was crossing Market Street and was struck by a Grey Volkswagen Passat. The driver of the Passat did not see the female due to the rain and it being dark. The female had minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.  The driver of the Passat is not facing any criminal charges due to the female crossing at a point other than the crosswalk and weather conditions were a factor in visibility.  Pedestrian’s condition is unknown at this time.

Around 9 pm Tuesday night, Baytown police, EMS and Fire and Rescue responded to the scene of an auto pedestrian accident on Market Street at Airhart Drive. At the posting of this story, the female victim was being treated at the scene by EMS. The driver did not receive a citation. Check back for the official press release.
