01.12.19 Three News Highlights: This Week in Baytown (See Update)

Update: UPDATE; According to Captain Hastings/Pct. 8 Constables — Around 3:15 am on Saturday, January 12, a call came in concerning a possible suicide at the Fred Hartman Bridge. The process of the actual recovery of the body started at 3:30 pm. The victim was a male in his 40s. According to Captain Hastings, there was no car that went of the bridge.The incident is still under investigation.

Three News Highlights:
Early Sunday morning, January 6, at 2:30 am,
a gunshot victim was transported by private vehicle from Channelview to Baytown.
At some point Baytown police got involved and escorted the vehicle
to the hospital in Baytown. Harris County sheriff’s office has confirmed
that the shooting incident occured in Channelview and that
the victim was airlifted to a Houston hospital once he arrived in Baytown.
This is the third incident within less than one month were a gunshot victims
from Channelview arrived in Baytown for medical treatment.
The first incident occurred on December 15 and the second on December 21.

Then on Wednesday night, January 9, Baytown police and other emergency response
teams responded to the scenes of three threatened suicide attempts.
All three incidents occurred within minutes of each other.
Thankfully none of the subjects succeeded in their attempts.

Around 4 pm today, Saturday, January 12, Baytown police,
Fire and Rescue and EMS responded to the scene of a vehicle that went
off the Fred Hartman Bridge. After an extensive search,
the man’s body was recovered. Check back for the official press release.
