10.08.18 Man Found with Stab Wounds in Taco Bell Drive-Thru Sunday Morning

2018-58208 – On October 7th at 12:37 p.m., officers were patrolling in the area of Rollingbrook and Garth when they came upon a vehicle stopped in the roadway. As officers began investigating the vehicle in the roadway they discovered there were two males near the drive thru of the Taco Bell. One of the males was laying on the ground and the other was standing over him. Upon contacting the two men officers learned that one of the subjects had been stabbed and cut several times and the other was providing aid to him. The injured male initially told officers he had been jumped by several unknown males at the Food Town in the 3500 block of North Main. During the course of the initial investigation officers received information that the injured subject had actually been involved in a disturbance at an apartment complex in the 3700 block of Garth with his ex-girlfriend. Officers located the ex-girlfriend and learned that during that disturbance the altercation became physical and the male pulled a handgun and pointed it at the female and reportedly began choking her while forcing her into the kitchen area of the apartment. It was during this time the female claims she noticed the knife in the sink, retrieved it and stabbed the male in self-defense. The female has injuries consistent with being involved in a physical altercation which amounted to minor injuries and were treated by EMS on scene. The injured male was transported to Hermann Hospital in Houston to be treated for his injuries, which were not believed to be life threatening. Detectives are investigating and no charges have been filed as of yet.
