08.09.18 Two Stories: Arrest and Accident

Story 1:

2018-46570 – On august 9th 1:33 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 800 block of East Adoue. As the vehicle came to a stop, the driver, identified as 36 year old Jason Williams of Baytown, exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers pursued Williams on foot giving him commands to stop, which Williams ignored. After a short foot chase officers finally were able to catch up to Williams in the 700 block of East Hunnicutt, however he continued to disregard officer’s commands to stop. This prompted offices to deploy their department issue Taser striking Williams, who was still running, causing Williams to fall to the ground. As Williams was falling to the ground officers noticed he was holding a handgun in his right hand, which he threw as he was falling to the ground. Officers were able to get Williams in custody at this point and upon checking the area near Williams they located the handgun Williams threw. Williams was ultimately transported to the Baytown Jail where he was booked and ultimately charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Mug shot attached
