04.09.18 Seventeen Minute Hot Pursuit Sunday Night

2018 – 20814 – On April 8th at 9:44 p.m., officers responded to a call of “shots fired” at the Mechanic Shop located at 1420 Market St.   Call remarks indicated a vehicle pulled up to the location and started shooting and that the shooters were in a gold Honda Accord and were firing at a blue Dodge challenger at that location.  While responding to the location, Officers spotted the gold Honda Accord heading south on Stadium drive at a high rate of speed.  Officers attempted to initiate a stop on the vehicle, however the suspect vehicle continued at a high rate of speed, eluding officers. Officers engaged in pursuit of the vehicle, which lasted approximately 17 minutes throughout the city, deployed  “stop sticks”, which successfully ended the pursuit in the parking lot of the Amegy Bank located at 723 Rollingbrook Drive.  Officers conducted a high risk felony stop on the vehicle and two black male suspects were arrested without further incident.  Inside the vehicle, Officer’s located marijuana, scales, a 50 round magazine for a 40 caliber Smith & Wesson as well as a 30 round magazine for 7.62 caliber ammunition.  Officers subsequently checked the path of the pursuit and located the weapons, which had been thrown out of the vehicle by the suspects during the pursuit. These weapons and ammunition were consistent with the shell casings found at the original scene on Market St.  Officer’s returned to the original scene to contact the subjects at the business, however they were reluctant to cooperate with the investigation. The two suspects, identified as 30 year old Randy Louis of Baytown (driver) and 26 year old Jourdan Cherry (passenger) of Baytown, were placed under arrest and transported to the Baytown Jail where they were booked on the following charges:
