08.08.16 Arrest Made in Shooting Case

Arrest made in shooting case On July 28th at 8:08 p.m., officers responded to Houston Methodist San Jacinto Hospital emergency room regarding a 15 year old shooting victim who had been dropped off at the hospital. Officers discovered the individuals who dropped the victim off, left without providing detailed information to the hospital staff. The victim was flown to a Houston hospital where he underwent emergency surgery for at least one gunshot wound. Detectives conducted interviews with numerous individuals who were present at the time of the shooting. During the course of the investigation, witnesses described seeing a male juvenile with a gun prior to the shooting. Detectives interviewed a 14 year old who was present during the shooting; he confessed to shooting the victim. Earlier today the 14 year old was formally charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon through the Harris County District Attorney’s Office Juvenile Division. The victim, who was determined to actually be a 17 year old from Louisiana, is currently in stable condition and is expected to survive.
