05.04.16 Fleeing Suspects Apprehended By Baytown PD

Official PD Press Release (05.05.16):

UPDATE: Concerning Arrests Made Yesterday (05.04.16)
2016-24346 45 year old Baytown man Roderick Reese and 30 year old Baytown woman Jessica Rangel were arrested near the intersection of IH10 and Decker Drive after they were stopped for shoplifting. Reese had entered Marshal’s department store at San Jacinto Mall and concealed $150 worth of clothing inside of his pants before leaving the store. An employee of the store followed Reese and called police. Reese got into a vehicle driven by Rangel and they fled west on IH10. Officers located and stopped the vehicle, recovering the stolen clothing. Reese was charged with Theft. Rangel was found to have 1.4 grams of methamphetamine on her person; she was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. Mug shots attached.

Today, Wednesday May 4, 2016, Baytown PD was contacted by Marshall’s at San Jacinto Mall concerning theft of merchandise. The make and model of the vehicle and direction of travel were given to police. The fleeing vehicle was soon spotted and a chase ensued. The vehicle was stopped on Spur 330 and I-10. The male and female pictured in this video were taken into custody. Methamphetamine was found in the possession of the female at the scene. This is not the official Baytown police press release; this report is based on information gathered at the scene.
