Baytown Police and other emergency personnel responded to the scene of a disturbance that escalated into a man named Anthony chapman being shot by a Baytown police officer. The incident occurred at Rosemont Apartments on Garth Road early this morning, January 27, 2016.
In a press release from Lt. Eric Freed with the Baytown Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division —
“Anthony Chapman has a history of harassing his estranged wife. He began damaging her apartment early this morning which caused her to leave and walk to Neighbors where she told the police officer working the desk what was happening.
Suspect Anthony Chapman is undergoing surgery and is expected to live. Charges of Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer will be filed on him within the next few days.
The officer involved in this
morning’s use of force has been treated and released from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.”
