Editor’s Note: There is still some confusion regarding this incident as to how many bodies were found deceased at the scene. According to the official Baytown Police press release, there were two bodies. According to eyewitnesses on location, there were three bodies lying outside the residence. We will update as soon as we are updated.
Official Baytown Police Press Release: At approximately 2:00 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of Southwood Circle after a third party reported being contacted by a male at the location.
The male stated that he had shot and killed his wife and was contemplating suicide.
Preliminary information indicates the male and female were involved in a romantic relationship.
We are awaiting further confirmation, but according to eyewitnesses, three bodies were lying in the road at the scene.
Upon arrival, officers located a female, believed to be approximately 30 years of age, near the front door of the residence suffering from apparent gunshot injuries.
Officers immediately attempted life-saving measures; however, she was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A male, believed to be approximately 50 years of age, was subsequently located inside the residence suffering from apparent gunshot injuries.
Officers provided life-saving measures; however, he was also pronounced deceased at the scene.
Preliminary information indicates the male and female were involved in a romantic relationship. No other individuals were involved in the incident, and no additional injuries were reported.
Chief of Police, John Stringer stated: “This is a tragic incident that has deeply impacted those involved and our community. I want to commend the officers who responded to this call for their professionalism, training, and immediate efforts to provide life-saving measures under extremely difficult circumstances.
We encourage anyone experiencing domestic violence, emotional distress, or a crisis situation to seek help and utilize available resources before circumstances reach a critical point. The safety and well-being of our community remain our highest priority. While this appears to be an isolated incident, our thoughts are with the families, friends, and loved ones affected by this tragedy as our investigators continue to determine the full circumstances surrounding this case.”
