· Case # 2026-1428
· Officers responded to a shooting incident involving a male employee at a local Walmart. The employee, who was working curbside pickup at the time, reported encountering three individuals with whom he has had prior issues. According to the employee, the individuals approached him in a threatening manner, prompting him to discharge a firearm.
No injuries were reported; however, two vehicles were struck by gunfire. The employee was detained at the scene, and a firearm was recovered.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office has accepted a charge of Deadly Conduct – Discharge of a Firearm against 21-year-old Baytown resident Rosel Simpson. No other arrests have been made at this time.
Case # 2026-15733
On March 27, 2026, at approximately 3:30 a.m., officers responded to a reported burglary in progress at a vape shop in the 2800 block of W. Baker Road. Call information indicated five individuals attempted to break into the business, with one detained by the complainant while the others ran away. No weapons were reported.
The complainant, who was inside the business at the time, reported hearing banging noises and observed a subject throw a rock at the front window. The glass did not shatter, and no entry was made. A teen was later found climbing a ladder at the rear of the building and was detained until officers arrived.
Officers confirmed no entry or damage to the building beyond minor scuff marks. The teen was released to a parent.
