UPDATES: Baytown Police Press Releases Drowning – Case #2025-25864 On May 24, 2025, at approximately 11:30 a.m., officers responded to a reported drowning at a residence in the 5300 block of East Road. While en route, they were informed that a young boy was receiving CPR from two off-duty Fire/EMS personnel. The child was carried to the ambulance and began showing positive signs before being transported by EMS to the Baytown airport, where Life Flight flew him to Memorial Hermann Hospital. Detectives were called to investigate. The latest update indicates the child is alert and conscious.
Homicide – Case #2025-25927
On May 24, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of Ruth Avenue in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, Baytown Fire Department medics were on scene treating a male victim, 37-year-old male of Baytown, who had an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. The male was transported to the hospital for treatment but was later pronounced deceased. The Crime Scene Unit processed the scene, and detectives are actively investigating the incident.
