11.17.23 Two Stories: SWAT Standoff and Major Accident with Fatality (11.21.23 Update Added on Fatality)


Official Baytown Police Press Release/11/21/23: Unit 1 was towing unit 2, traveling southbound in the right lane in the 6100 block of SH 146. Unit 3 was traveling northbound in the left lane in the 6100 block of SH 146. Witnesses stated driver of unit 3 turned left to make an illegal U turn to head southbound on SH 146, resulting in a collision between units. Unfortunately, the driver of Unit 3 was pronounced deceased at the scene by Baytown EMS. The driver of Unit 1 and 2 was transported to Houston Methodist Baytown, and their injury status is reported as stable. Crash reconstruction team arrived on scene
 
The involved vehicles are described as follows:
Unit 1: White 2022 Ford F-250 towing Unit 2, a black silver star trailer; Driver: 58-year-old male from Edinburg.
Unit 3: Black 2012 Ford; Deceased: 31-year-old male, a resident of Deer Park.


Story 1:
On Wednesday, November 15th, around 7:38 AM, Baytown police responded to the scene of a family violence incident in the 3800 block of West Baker Road.  The victim was assaulted by his brother when he was struck in the face with a handgun.  Baytown SWAT was dispatched to the scene and after several hours of negotiations, 29-year old Baytown resident, Juanmarkus Ardoin was arrested.  Case Status: Harris County ADA accepted the charge of Aggravated Assault with deadly weapon (Family Violence) and Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon on Ardoin.
  
Stiry 2:
On Friday, November 17, a major accident with fatality occurred in the 6200 hundred block of Highway 146 North in Baytown.  Both, the northbound and southbound lanes were shut down for a while.  Centerpoint was contacted because of a live electricl wire that was knocked down during the accident.  No other details are available at the posting of this story.  Check back for the official Baytown police press release.
