09.23.19 Two Stories: A Good Samaritan Story and Family Violence

Story 1: A Good Samaritan story concerning a stolen bike and a disabled man in Baytown.

Story 2:

2019-55714On Sunday, September 22nd at 1:24 a.m., Baytown Police responded to the 2000 block of Georgia Street, in reference to shots fired.  While in route to the location, an officer observed a female, later identified as Emily Burris, running down the street.  The officer stopped Burris and she told the officer that she was running from her boyfriend, David Patterson, because he punched her several times and fired a shotgun inside their residence.  The officer noted that Burris had some blood on her arms, hands, and legs and had an odor of alcohol emitting from her breath.  Additional officers arrived on scene and Patterson exited the house and told officers that Burris hit him with a chair and also fired a handgun inside the home.  Patterson also had an odor of alcohol emitting from his breath.  Patterson explained that the blood on Burris was a result of her breaking the television.  Both Patterson and Burris were arrested for Assault/Family Violence after the Harris County District Attorney’s Office declined charges due to conflicting stories and their inebriated state.  Mug shots attached.
