There have been some reports that the Hartman Bridge is open based on some of the traffic moving slowly across the bridge. The Baytown Police Department and the City of Baytown would like for our citizens and the community to be aware that the Hartman Bridge is CLOSED due to ice on the bridge. The moving traffic seen on the Hartman Bridge is simply Law Enforcement trying to move the stranded vehicles currently on the bridge, off the bridge and to safety so barricades can be put in place. Also CLOSED are the elevated portions of Hwy 146 South from Ferry Road to the Hartman Bridge as well as all elevated portions of Spur 330 between Interstate 10 and Hwy 146, both directions. The feeder roads are currently open however drivers should use extreme caution when navigating these portions of the roadway as ice could form as the temperatures continue to drop throughout the night.
