10.26.17 Juveniles Led Baytown Police in Hot Pursuit (Audio Error — Incident Occurred on Wednesday, not Tuesday)

2017-62039 – On October 25th at 5:46 p.m., officers responded to the area of 3000 block of West Baker road in reference to a call of a stolen vehicle that had been seen in the area by a friend of the owner. As officers arrived in the area they located the vehicle, a red over silver Chevrolet Silverado, at the intersection of West Baker and Village lane at a convenience store, stopped at the fuel pumps. As officers pulled into the convenience store parking lot the stolen vehicle, which was occupied by three black males, pulled away and onto the roadway. At this time officers activated their emergency lights and siren on their patrol vehicle to initiate a stop of the vehicle, however the driver refused to stop. The vehicle attempted to elude the officers by turning onto Village lane and ultimately driving into the parking lot of the Village Lane Apartments and continued to drive through the apartment complex, between the buildings and through the grassy areas of the complex. The vehicle exited the complex and repeated this route once more before coming to a stop between two buildings. As the vehicle came to a stop all three occupants exited the vehicle and fled on foot through the complex and were subsequently apprehended by officers. All three suspects were determined to be juveniles from Baytown ages 14 (driver), 15 and 15. Officers also located a firearm in the vehicle and during the investigation they learned that the vehicle had been stolen a few days earlier from a residence in the Springfield subdivision. The driver was subsequently charged with Felony evading in a motor vehicle while the two passengers were charged with misdemeanor evading on foot.
