06.13.17 Official BPD Press Release/Bay Harbor Shooting Incident


2017-35015 – On June 12th at 8:33 p.m., officers were dispatched to the
Bay Harbor Apartments, located in the 2500 block of East James, in reference
to a shooting. Upon arrival officers learned a white male and a black male had
been arguing in the parking lot and during the argument the black male pulled
a gun a fired at the white male. The white male fled on foot and a witness
advised police they had seen a white male running on Dwinnel. Officers went
to the area of Dwinnel and locate a white male but were unable to determine
if he was in fact involved in the incident. Officers at the apartment complex
did locate a shell casing on the ground but were not able to locate a
shooting victim or the actor, nor were they able to determine if the shell casing
was from this incident. The white male was identified and released without charges.
At this point police do not have a victim or complainant, therefore there is no active investigation.
