Police seeking public’s help in identifying “Skimmer” suspects
On January 21st and at 10:30 am, Baytown Police were called to
investigate suspicious activity at the Texas Citizens Bank located
at 507 W Baker Road. Officers arrived and discovered a credit
card skimmer had been placed on the ATM machine located at
the drive through window of the bank. The skimmer was
removed and the bank representatives were notified of the
device.
Detectives reviewed the bank surveillance video and determined
the skimming device was placed on the ATM at 6:23 am on the
21st
, by what appears to be a young Hispanic or black male. A
front passenger could also be seen in the video, who appears to
be a young teenage male. The suspects were driving, what
appears to be, a white 1998-1999 Chrysler Town and Country
van, missing the front left hub cap.
Detectives are currently investigating this crime and are seeking
the public’s help in identifying the suspects from the surveillance
footage. Based on the fact the device was discovered and
confiscated, it is not believed any customer information was
compromised as a result of the device being placed on the ATM.
