On January 11th at 4:09 a.m., officers responded to a burglary in progress at the Valero located in the 2200 block of South State Highway 146. Upon arrival officers found that the front glass of the store had been shattered out, along with damage to the window frame. Officers also noted there was a chain around the ATM machine, as if someone was attempting to steal it. Officers learned during the initial investigation that at approximately 4:05 a.m. a blue over gray Ford F250 pulls into the parking lot and backs through the front of the store in an effort to steal the ATM machine. Fortunately the suspects were not successful in their attempt and fled the scene immediately after their failure. The suspects were described as white males, both approximately 6 feet tall, weighing between 180-200 pounds. Case is under investigation.
