At 10:14 am this morning, Thursday, May 14, 2015, a 24 year old tow truck driver died after becoming pinned underneath a Ford F150 he was repossessing. The victim had hooked up to the Ford in the 10 block of Lafayette Street and towed it to the 10 block of 8th Street where he stopped to disconnect the Ford’s transmission linkage. Our preliminary investigation shows he left the tow truck in “drive”. The victim crawled underneath the Ford and became pinned after his tow truck pulled forward. A passerby called 911 but the victim had expired before first responders arrived.
